The number 2,350 is a large number of people for most bands to expect at their concerts, but not for Coldplay; the U.K. rock stalwarts have been headlining festivals and playing to stadiums for years now. That’s what made their post-BRIT Awards 2016 performance at the indigO2, a theater nestled within London’s O2 complex and next to the O2 Arena, all the more enticing. With a 2,350 capacity, the indigO2 isn’t exactly a basement, but for a band with music designed to pack arenas, a large theater is downright cozy.
You could see it in the attendees’ faces on Wednesday night (Feb. 24): Everyone felt mighty lucky to be witnessing this. It wasn’t that Coldplay was especially great during the hour-long post-BRITs set; they simply picked the right songs to make the British crowd go bonkers.
